Now that they have that PW they initiate the remote control / connection before scammer can. They want to hurry and get their checklist done so they just hurry up hoping they'll connect already. It sounds like this persons friend got scammed by someone who called her and asked her to download the AnyDesk app. They basically get the scammer to read the dashboard where the connect PW is listed. The local “connection_trace.txt” file can be found in the same folder as the configuration files for the AnyDesk client. AnyDesk is a legitimate software program that allows someone to take control of your computer if you need help with a technology issue. When receiving a connection request, AnyDesk creates a “connection_trace.txt” file that includes information such as the Session details such as the date and time of the connection, how the connection was accepted or rejected as well as who sent the connection request.
